Houston Arboretum: free trails, and free parking on Thursdays

Daily; free parking Thursdays and second Sundays

Houston Arboretum & Nature Center

The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center's trails and nature center are always free to enter, and five free self-guided Habitat Hikes (with downloadable guides and music playlists) lead you past ponds, field stations and insect houses. On Thursdays the usual $6.50 parking fee is waived too (also the second Sunday of each month through March 14, 2027). Trails open 7am–6pm November–February (7:30pm March–October); the nature center is open 9am–4pm. Leashed dogs are allowed on the trails.
